The Sandman Season 2 Trailer, Release Dates & Cast

Netflix has dropped the official trailer for The Sandman season 2, confirmed a split release schedule, a bonus episode, and a star-packed final chapter.

Netflix has officially unveiled the main trailer, key art, and brand-new images for the highly anticipated second—and final—season of The Sandman. Fans can now mark their calendars: the final chapter of Dream’s saga will be released in two volumes, followed by one last bonus episode.

Volume 1, consisting of six episodes, premieres July 3, 2025, while Volume 2, made up of five episodes, will debut July 24, 2025. The epic journey will conclude with a bonus episode focused on Dream’s sister Death, dropping on July 31, 2025.

Starring Tom Sturridge as Dream of the Endless, the second season will bring the beloved DC Comics series to its full conclusion, wrapping up multiple fan-favorite storylines. These include Season of Mists, Brief Lives, The Kindly Ones, and The Sandman: Overture, along with classic one-shot tales like “Tales in the Sand,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “The Song of Orpheus,” “Thermidor,” and “The Tempest.”

This season sees Dream facing the ripple effects of his past as he tries to redeem himself and safeguard not only his kingdom but the waking world itself. The journey forces him into confrontations with gods, monsters, mortals—and his own family.

Alongside Tom Sturridge, the returning cast features Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Death), Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O’Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O’Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, Steve Coogan, and Boyd Holbrook.

The Sandman is executive produced by Allan Heinberg, who also serves as showrunner and writer, alongside executive producers David S. Goyer and Neil Gaiman. All episodes are directed by Jamie Childs, and the writers’ room includes a talented team with Ameni Rozsa, Alex Newman-Wise, Austin Guzman, Shadi Petosky, Jim Campolongo, Vanessa Benton, Jay Franklin, Greg Goetz, and Marina Marlens.

Based on the acclaimed comics by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg, this final season aims to deliver a visually rich and emotionally resonant farewell to Dream’s universe.

Fans can watch the official trailer now and get ready to revisit the Dreaming when The Sandman returns to Netflix starting July 3.
