Netflix Reveals Cast for Pride and Prejudice Series

Netflix announces the final cast of its new Pride and Prejudice series, offering a first look as production begins on the classic adaptation.

Netflix is officially bringing Pride and Prejudice back to the screen, and the final cast is now set as production kicks off in the UK. The six-part limited series will offer a faithful, classic retelling of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, with a cast that blends seasoned stars and promising newcomers.

The latest additions include Rufus Sewell, who takes on the role of Mr Bennet, and Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet. They join Heartstopper‘s Rhea Norwood as Lydia, with Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery stepping into their debut roles as Kitty and Mary Bennet, respectively. Rising star Louis Partridge will portray Mr Wickham, while Jamie Demetriou brings his comedic chops to the part of Mr Collins. Rounding out the central cast is Fiona Shaw as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg.

The newly confirmed ensemble also features:

Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley

Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley

Anjana Vasan as Mrs Gardiner

Sebastian Armesto as Mr Gardiner

Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas

Saffron Coomber as Mrs Hurst

James Dryden as Mr Hurst

Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas

James Northcote as Colonel Forster

Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster

Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy

They join previously announced stars Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, and Olivia Colman.

Pride and Prejudice is being written by Dolly Alderton, best known for Everything I Know About Love, and directed by Euros Lyn, who previously helmed Heartstopper. Both also serve as executive producers alongside Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, Louise Mutter, and Emma Corrin, who marks their executive producing debut.

Speaking earlier in the year, Alderton shared her excitement about adapting the timeless romance:

“Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy… I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count Pride and Prejudice as their favourite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr Darcy.”

Produced by Lisa Osborne, the series stays true to Jane Austen’s sharp wit, iconic characters, and timeless love story that has captivated audiences for over 200 years. The show is expected to breathe new life into the classic tale while remaining loyal to the novel’s enduring themes of love, class, and self-discovery.

Netflix‘s Pride and Prejudice began production in July 2025 in the UK.
