Get ready to turn up the volume, because Camp Rock 3 is officially in the works. Disney Branded Television confirmed that the third installment of the beloved Disney Channel franchise has been greenlit for Disney Channel and Disney+.
The news has fans buzzing as the Jonas Brothers—Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Kevin Jonas—are set to return as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray of the fictional band Connect 3. To make it even more exciting, Demi Lovato will reprise her role as Mitchie Torres, with the stars also serving as co-executive producers on the film.
“It’s time to head back to camp,” Nick Jonas said in a video released by Disney+ that also teased clips from the set. The announcement ended with the reveal that the movie is now officially in production.
Returning Faces And New Cast Members
The upcoming movie will bring back familiar faces like Maria Canals-Barrera, who once again plays Connie Torres, Mitchie’s mom. But Camp Rock 3 will also introduce a new generation of campers: Liamani Segura as Sage, Hudson Stone as Desi, Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Malachi Barton as Fletch, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, Ava Jean as Madison, and Sherry Cola as Lark.
According to Disney, the story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a reunion tour, leading them back to Camp Rock in search of fresh talent. As eager campers compete for the coveted spot, drama, alliances, and unexpected romances unfold.
A Beloved Disney Channel Legacy
The original Camp Rock debuted in 2008, telling the story of Mitchie, an aspiring singer who hides her identity while helping her mom in the camp kitchen. When pop star Shane Gray overhears her voice, he embarks on a search to find her. The sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, followed Mitchie and Connect 3 as they faced rivalry from a competing camp across the lake.
Both films became instant Disney Channel classics, ranking among the network’s top 10 original movies and producing hit songs that topped the charts.
Creative Team
Camp Rock 3 will be directed by Veronica Rodriguez from a script by Eydie Faye. Tim Federle, the creator of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, will executive produce, while Jamal Sims is on board as choreographer.
Lovato celebrated the announcement on her Instagram Story, writing, “Another one but make it camp!! good luck to this next class of campers.” The Jonas Brothers also leaned into nostalgia, sharing a playful set video where they lip-synched iconic lines from the first movie.
