Avengers: Doomsday Star Still Hasn’t Seen The Script

Avengers: Doomsday has been filming for over two weeks but Kelsey Grammer and other cast members still haven’t read the full script.

Secrecy is nothing new in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Avengers: Doomsday is taking it to a whole new level. The upcoming Marvel tentpole has reportedly been filming for over two weeks, yet some of its stars still haven’t even laid eyes on a script.

Kelsey Grammer, who reprises his role as Beast, revealed during an appearance on Literally! With Rob Lowe that he’s only had a “preliminary introduction to the idea” behind the film. “They are still very secretive about the script,” Kelsey Grammer admitted, underscoring just how tightly Marvel Studios is keeping details under wraps.

Kelsey Grammer’s return as the iconic blue mutant follows his post-credits cameo in The Marvels, where Monica Rambeau finds herself in another universe, face-to-face with Beast and an alternate version of her mother, Maria Rambeau.

It’s unclear whether Kelsey Grammer has even been on set yet for Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently shooting in London. However, his experience isn’t unique. Fellow Marvel actor David Harbour, who stars in Thunderbolts, recently spoke to GamesRadar+ about the same level of radio silence.

“I kind of knew I was gonna be in it, but I didn’t know anybody else was gonna be in it. I don’t have a story, I don’t have a script, anything like that,” David Harbour shared during a chat with Wyatt Russell, who plays John Walker. Wyatt Russell echoed the sentiment, saying, “I know it changed about a thousand times, and it’s still changing. So you’re kept on your toes.”

Wyatt Russell added that communication with Marvel can sometimes feel like a spy thriller. “You get a call, and it’s like ‘The eagle flies north tonight.’ And you’re like, ‘Okay, I have to get on an airplane.’”

Despite the chaos and cloak-and-dagger communication, Avengers: Doomsday remains firmly on the calendar for a May 1, 2026 release. Until then, fans will have to rely on teases, cryptic cast interviews, and the ever-present Marvel mystery machine to piece together what’s coming in Phase 6.
