The Witcher season 4 sets its Netflix premiere date for October 30, 2025 as Liam Hemsworth takes over as Geralt of Rivia and the story begins a two-season journey.
Netflix has officially revealed that The Witcher season 4 will premiere on October 30, 2025, with Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia. Alongside the announcement, the streamer released new first-look photos, key art, and a fresh clip teasing the next chapter in the fantasy epic.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich exclusively told Tudum.com that season 4 marks the start of a bigger plan for the series’ central characters. “This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever,” she teased.
The new season picks up after the Continent-shaking events of season 3, with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri forced onto separate paths. A brutal war and a host of enemies surround them, but each finds surprising allies who could help shape their journeys. If these fractured heroes can embrace the families they discover along the way, they may finally have a chance to reunite.
Season 4 will feature eight episodes, each running approximately 50 minutes. The creative team is led by creator, showrunner, and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, with writing contributions from Hissrich, Tania Lotia, Rae Benjamin, Troy Dangerfield, Matthew D’Ambrosio, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Clare Higgins, and Mike Ostrowski. Directing duties will be split between Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb.
Behind the scenes, Steve Gaub, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Tomek Baginski, Jarek Sawko, Jason Brown, and Sean Daniel serve as executive producers.
The ensemble cast includes Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Joey Batey as Jaskier, and Laurence Fishburne as Regis. Returning favorites include Eamon Farren, Anna Shaffer, Mimî M Khayisa, Cassie Clare, Mahesh Jadu, Meng’er Zhang, Graham McTavish, Royce Pierreson, Mecia Simson, and Bart Edwards. Season 4 will also introduce Sharlto Copley as Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as Skellen, and several new faces to the Continent, ensuring no shortage of intrigue and conflict.
With an October 30 premiere and a two-season arc promised, The Witcher is setting the stage for a dramatic and emotional journey that will reshape Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri’s destinies.
