Ted Lasso season 4 starts filming in Kansas City and London as original stars return and new cast members join the beloved Apple TV+ series.
Apple TV+ is bringing fans back to Richmond — and beyond — as Ted Lasso officially kicks off production on its highly anticipated fourth season.
Filming is now underway in Kansas City, with additional scenes set to be shot in London. Returning to the Emmy-winning comedy are fan favorites Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift, all reprising their original roles.
Joining the Ted Lasso universe for the first time are new cast members Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. While character details for the newcomers remain tightly under wraps, Feely will step into the role of Henry Lasso, Ted’s son.
The season’s official logline promises a fresh twist: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Behind the scenes, Jack Burditt has signed on as executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV+. Jason Sudeikis remains at the helm as both star and executive producer. Other key creatives returning include Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Wrubel, and Leanne Bowen — with Brett Goldstein also continuing his roles as both writer and executive producer.
The production lineup includes Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence through Doozer Productions, alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Writers and co-executive producers Sara Walker and Phoebe Walsh are also back, with Sasha Garron co-producing. Julia Lindon and Dylan Marron join the creative team as writer and story editor, respectively. The show continues to be produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with Universal Television.
First premiering in 2020, Ted Lasso became a runaway hit during the pandemic with its heartfelt message of optimism and kindness. Over three seasons, the series earned 61 Emmy nominations and took home 13 wins, including back-to-back awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and individual acting wins for Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein.
Now, with new characters, new challenges, and a new football team, Ted Lasso season 4 promises to deliver the heart, humor, and hope that fans have come to love — and then some.
