Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric, was having a really hard time before being cast for Sex Education. He was struggling with getting rejected after auditions and ended up homeless. Thankfully, his wonderful friends were there to let him stay with them and help provide for him until he could get back on his feet. His saving grace was his role in Sex Education. Ncuti is an inspiration to all!

Aimee Lou Wood and Emma MacKey, who play Aimee and Maeve in Sex Education, have great chemistry on camera as they are best friends in the Netflix series. During an interview with BuzzFeed Emma said, “Aimee just blows us all away, and I’m completely obsessed with her.” Throughout their time together you can see that this best friend’s relationship has been taken off camera also.

Asa Butterfield has fit into this role perfectly. One of the reasons he does so well is that this character relates to him more than you’d originally think. His mother, Jacqueline Farr, was actually a psychologist. He even got his mother to help prepare him for his role as an under-the-table sex therapist.

On a show based on sex, there is bound to be a romantic relationship that develops on set. Connor Swindells and Aimee Lou Woods started dating after meeting on set. Although they have broken up, they said that there are no hard feelings between them. Aimee said to Grazia during an interview, “We still really love each other and respect each other. It was an okay breakup, it wasn’t dramatic.”

Tanya Reynolds and Patricia Allison, who plays Lily and Ola, develop a romantic relationship on camera. In real life, similar to Aimee Lou Wood and Emma Mackey, they are good friends! While playing Netflix’s best friend game, Patricia said Tanya was her celebrity crush. They also have bonded over their love for the cartoon show, Big Mouth. This cartoon has a lot of similarities to Sex Education in the sense that it talks about the unsaid parts of growing up.

Sex Education has a big focus on women’s empowerment and talking about the unsaid things women have to deal with on a regular basis. Gillian Anderson has been advocating for women long before this Netflix series and this is one of the many reasons why she is perfect for her role. She and her friend, Jennifer Nadel, wrote We: A Manifest To Women Everywhere helping women deal with their struggles and to be better to themselves and the women around them.

Alistair Petrie plays Adam’s father, Mr.Groff. Alistair is the father of two boys, Brodie and Cal Petrie. Although in his role as a father on the show he has a hard time bonding with Adam, in real life he seems to have a good time with his sons. They even made an appearance on the series!

Thank you to the cast members of Sex Education for being part of such a creative and inspirational show. AfterBuzz TV can’t wait for Season 4!
