The Crown (Netflix)

After watching The Emmy Awards, it is safe to say that The Crown is next on your list of must-watch shows. It ended up taking home the most wins with seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. The Crown is an excellent example of a breathtaking historical drama with amazing actors and actresses portraying the most authentic versions of their characters. It is a beautifully filmed show, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a fantastic story.

Ted Lasso (AppleTV+)

It is no surprise that Ted Lasso ended up taking home the Outstanding Comedy Series award as well as four trophies altogether last night. Sudeikis took home the lead actor award, Brett Goldstein for supporting actor, and Hannah Waddingham for supporting actress. This show is a must-see and will pull your heartstrings. It has the perfect mix of comedy and friendship that makes Ted Lasso a coach to love. Season one and most of season two are both out now on AppleTV+, and episode ten of season two airs this Friday!

The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix)

One of the more shocking wins of last night was The Queen’s Gambit taking home the Outstanding Limited Series, which was well deserved after how amazing the show did on Netflix. In the acceptance speech, executive producer William Horberg said this to Anya Taylor-Joy: “You brought the sexy back to chess, and you inspired a whole generation of girls and young women to realize that patriarchy simply has no defense on our queens.” This entire show will suck you in and cause you to rethink chess all over again!

Mare of Easttown (HBOMAX)

The award for Lead Actress in a Limited, Anthology Series or Movie went to Kate Winslet last night for her role as a small-town detective Mare Sheehan. Mare of Easttown shines a light on a middle-aged mother who has struggled within her life but still manages to find a way to be a powerful figure in her way. Mare of Easttown is a fantastic show of female empowerment and is a must-watch!

Hacks (HBOMAX)

Last night Jean Smart took the Emmy Award for lead actress in a comedy series for her role as Deborah Vance in HBO’s show Hacks. It was no surprise that she would win after her amazing performance in the show. Not only does she make you laugh, but she also makes you cry in the best way possible. So now you don’t only have Ted Lasso on your list of must-watch comedy shows, you now have Hacks!
