The beloved tradition, now in its 40th year, returns with record-breaking participation and plenty of heated debates as fans crowned their favorite heartthrobs in ten competitive categories — from “Sexiest 40 Year Old” to “Sexiest Game Show Host.”

With PEOPLE’s official Sexiest Man Alive announcement set for November 3, the anticipation is high. But before the big reveal, the Readers’ Choice poll has already delivered plenty of excitement — and a few surprises — as fan-favorite celebs walked away with their very own sexy titles.

Leading the pack is Derek Hough, who waltzed his way to victory as Sexiest 40 Year Old, beating out Jonathan Groff, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lewis Hamilton thanks to his smooth moves on Dancing with the Stars.

For Sexiest Tattoos, fans voted Dylan Efron to the top spot, ink and all, edging out contenders Jung Kook, Tyler James Williams, and Joe Jonas.

There was also no surprise on the field as David Beckham scored another fan-favorite title as Sexiest Soccer Club Owner, once again proving his enduring appeal.

In a nod to feline lovers, Dave Franco took home Sexiest Cat Dad, winning hearts with his affection for his tabbies Max and Otis. The actor even delivered a mock acceptance speech on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, joking, “I feel like I’ve been silently campaigning for this my entire life.”

And speaking of Fallon, the late-night host ended the night as Sexiest Game Show Host, earning the win after hosting That’s My Jam and beating out Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, and Nate Burleson.
