Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in Wuthering Heights Trailer

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi ignite passion and revenge in Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights trailer, with Warner Bros. set to release the Gothic romance in 2026.

Warner Bros. has unveiled the official trailer for Emerald Fennell’s highly anticipated adaptation of Wuthering Heights, a Gothic romance based on Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel. The film stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, bringing the tragic love story to a new generation with an intense and erotic edge.

Fennell, known for her acclaimed films Saltburn and Promising Young Woman, serves as writer, director, and producer. The project has already generated buzz for its bold tone and powerhouse casting. Alongside Robbie and Elordi, the cast includes Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton, and Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton.

Newcomers are also making their mark in the adaptation. Owen Cooper, best known for Adolescence, takes on the role of a teenage Heathcliff, while Charlotte Mellington, who appeared in Matilda the Musical, portrays young Catherine. Vy Nguyen will appear as a younger version of Nelly Dean, the novel’s narrator. For Cooper, Mellington, and Nguyen, Wuthering Heights marks their feature film debuts.

The project sparked a heated bidding war when Robbie and Elordi were confirmed as leads. Netflix reportedly offered $150 million, but Warner Bros. ultimately secured the film with an $80 million bid. MRC financed the movie, with Robbie’s LuckyChap producing alongside Warner Bros. Pictures, which will release the film worldwide on February 13, 2026.

This is the second collaboration between MRC, LuckyChap, and Fennell after Saltburn, and the third overall between LuckyChap and Fennell. With the trailer already creating waves, anticipation is high for how Fennell will reimagine Brontë’s classic tale of passion, revenge, and the rigid boundaries of social class.

Wuthering Heights arrives in theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day 2026, promising an unforgettable mix of romance and tragedy.
