John Krasinski, a four-time Primetime Emmy nominee, shared the news personally on social media, solidifying his return to the universe he helped launch in 2018. While casting details remain under wraps and the storyline is being kept tightly sealed, the creative team is already in place.
John Krasinski will produce alongside Allyson Seeger through their Sunday Night Productions banner, which has a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures. The project also reunites them with Platinum Dunes, further extending the production partnership that’s helped steer the franchise to box office dominance.
The A Quiet Place saga has grown into a global phenomenon, earning over $900 million worldwide across its first three films: the original A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II, and the recent spinoff, A Quiet Place: Day One.
The franchise began its meteoric rise at SXSW in 2018, where A Quiet Place made a major splash ahead of its $50.2 million opening weekend. The film went on to earn $341 million globally and received an Oscar nomination for Sound Editing. Starring John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds, the film quickly became a modern horror classic.
A Quiet Part II arrived in May 2021 following pandemic-related delays and helped reignite the box office with a $57 million Memorial Day weekend debut, eventually reaching $297.3 million worldwide. Blunt, Jupe, and Simmonds all reprised their roles, and the film earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Sound.
Last summer’s A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel directed by Michael Sarnoski, shifted the action to an apocalyptic New York City. The film starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, earning $52.2 million in its opening weekend and going on to gross $262 million globally.
With A Quiet Place Part III on the horizon, John Krasinski is once again taking the reins of the franchise he helped create. While the details may still be a mystery, one thing is certain: silence will be more crucial than ever when the next installment arrives in 2027.
