On-Screen Couples With the Best Chemistry!

Love on screen inspires us to share love in real life. From movies to TV shows, like ‘Friends’ and ‘UP’, these couples prove that love is real and your person is out there!

Mia and Sebastian – La La Land

Everybody loves a right person wrong time storyline and Mia and Sebastian embody that like no other. Throughout La La Land we see these two lovebirds, portrayed by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, fall in love and fall apart which makes for a heartbreaking movie. This couple has so much chemistry that people even ship the two actors together in real life!

Jim and Pam – The Office

Jim and Pam, from The Office, are an iconic couple who truly embody the friends to lovers trope. After waiting multiple seasons to see these two, portrayed by John Krasinski and Jenna Fisher respectively, to get together, fans were finally rewarded in season four. With Jim’s carefree and patient attitude and Pam’s organized and helpful attitude they meld together perfectly making a beautiful on-screen couple.

Charlie and Nick – Heartstopper

Being able to discover yourself in a relationship is one of the joys of young love. Charlie and Nick, portrayed by Kit Conner and Joe Locke in Heartstopper, perfectly portray the ups and downs of young queer love. Being yourself is hard in adolescence, but Nick and Charlie prove that it is worth it to be with someone you love. Having young queer representation is such an important thing to see on-screen, especially when they have as much chemistry as Kit and Joe.

Jack and Rose – Titanic

This would not be a complete list without Jack and Rose from Titanic. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet show the love between these two characters beautifully. Separated only through class, these two young lovebirds are able to stay in love through thick and thin, even after one of them tragically passes away. The beauty in this relationship has made them memorable for multiple decades!

Marshall and Lily – How I Met Your Mother

In a show about relationships, it is hard to narrow down which one takes the cake for the most chemistry, but if audience’s had to pick one from How I Met Your Mother, it would be Marshall and Lily. Between the “olive theory” and the iconic scene of Lily comforting Marshall after a familial loss, fans have exploded over these two even after the show ended. Jason Segal and Alyson Hannigan play these two characters expertly and share so much chemistry on scene!

Monica and Chandler – Friends

Another show about relationships, Friends, has one couple that fans argue is a true depiction of love. Monica and Chandler were an unlikely coupling, but once they were together fans could not get enough! This is probably due to how much chemistry Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox share on-screen. The beauty of this love is the simplicity and how much each character loves just being in the other’s presence. Although Friends had a lot of relationships, Monica and Chandler was one of the most iconic!

Rick and Michonne – The Walking Dead

Having a relationship during the apocalypse is hard, but falling in love is nearly impossible! However, Rick and Michone make the impossible seem easy in The Walking Dead. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira share so much chemistry on screen even as they mow down walkers together. Despite all odds, these two form a beautiful connection which is all anyone really wants at the end of the world.

Carl and Ellie – Up

While Up might seem like an unlikely movie for this list, who can forget the beautiful montage at the beginning of the film? Carl and Ellie, played by Edward Asner and Elie Docner, show audiences that love can stand the test of time, even when one partner is no longer there to partake in the relationship. The iconic scene as well as the iconic song make this couple unforgettable.

Kevin and V

This couple is dysfunction at its best! Kevin and V, portrayed by Steven Howey and Shanola Hampton, show that life doesn’t have to be perfect to find your person. This couple has been together for many years and it seems like their relationship only gets stronger with time. Although this couple had a lot of ups and downs, their relationship and chemistry on screen was incredible to watch. Shameless had a lot of crazy couples, but Kevin and V make love seem easy!

Princess Bubblegum and Marceline

A list about chemistry would not be complete without Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time. These beautiful characters were expertly portrayed by Hynden Walch and Olive Olsen. Their relationship spans thousands of years and have a lot of tumultuous times, but in the end they come together to form one the best on-screen couples ever. With a beautiful song, these two prove that their love is definitely true love, and that opposites really do attract.
