Harrison Ford will be honored with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award during the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, streaming live on Netflix on March 1, 2026.

Harrison Ford is set to receive one of the acting world’s most prestigious honors. The legendary star has been named the 61st recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, recognizing both his extraordinary career and decades of humanitarian work.

The accolade will be presented during the 32nd Annual Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA, streaming live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall. The award is given annually to an actor who exemplifies the finest ideals of the profession.

With a career spanning more than six decades, Ford’s influence on film and television is undeniable. He rose to prominence with his breakthrough role as Bob Falfa in American Graffiti (1973), before achieving global stardom as Han Solo beginning in Star Wars (1977). He went on to reprise the role across multiple installments, helping shape one of the most enduring franchises in cinematic history.

In 1981, Ford introduced another cultural icon as Indiana Jones, debuting in Raiders of the Lost Ark and returning to the role across five films through Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in 2023. His filmography also includes acclaimed performances in Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049, as well as Witness, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Additional highlights range from The Fugitive and Air Force One to The Call of the Wild and Captain America: Brave New World.

Ford’s television career began in the late 1960s with appearances on series such as Gunsmoke, Ironside, The Virginian, The F.B.I., Love, American Style, and Kung Fu. After decades focused primarily on film, he made a celebrated return to television in the 2020s, starring opposite Helen Mirren in 1923 and later earning widespread praise for his performance in the Apple TV+ comedy-drama Shrinking. His work on Shrinking garnered multiple nominations, including his first Actor nomination and his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

Beyond acting, Ford has been deeply committed to environmental and humanitarian causes. He serves as vice-chair of Conservation International and has supported global conservation efforts through organizations and projects such as EarthShare, Restore Hetch Hetchy, and the documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. His advocacy has taken him from environmental inquiries in Indonesia to the United Nations Climate Action Summit, where he delivered a notable address in 2019. In 2025, he received the inaugural E.O. Wilson Legacy Award for Transformative Conservation Leadership. He has also supported human rights initiatives and archaeological preservation.

SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin praised Ford as “a singular presence in American life,” citing the lasting cultural impact of his work and his devotion to the craft. Ford, in turn, expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting how meaningful it is to be honored by fellow actors after a lifetime spent on film sets.

The SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award is voted on by members of the union’s National Honors and Tributes Committee and celebrates performers whose careers elevate the profession while reflecting a strong commitment to public service. For Ford, the honor adds another milestone to a legacy that continues to resonate across generations.
