Hannah Waddingham reveals filming starts in July and praises the feminist writing team behind Ted Lasso’s highly anticipated Season 4.
The anticipation for Season 4 of Ted Lasso just kicked up another notch, thanks to a recent reveal from series star Hannah Waddingham. While the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series hardly needs extra hype, every new tidbit from the cast keeps fans buzzing—and Hannah Waddingham‘s latest comments are no exception.
Speaking with Capital FM Radio, Hannah Waddingham confirmed that production on the upcoming season will officially begin in July 2025. The announcement comes amid growing excitement for the next chapter of the beloved series, which ended its third season with major developments and a surprising new direction.
“We start shooting in July,” Hannah Waddingham said. “We thought we’d mourned the loss, and now it’s rising from the dead!”
One of the biggest twists heading into Season 4 is the shift in storyline for Jason Sudeikis‘ titular character, who will now coach a women’s football team. It’s a bold move that already has fans and critics speculating on how the show will evolve while maintaining the charm and heart that made it a global phenomenon.
Hannah Waddingham, who plays club owner Rebecca Welton, took the opportunity to praise the show’s writers, referring to them as “Jedi Knights” and emphasizing the inclusive nature of the writers’ room.
“Our writers are literally Jedi Knights. They’re just incredible,” she said. “And we’ve got like a full room of real feminist men. So we’ve got all the fabulous women there, and the men that are in there, and I think you really see it in the scripts … it’s just so beautifully drawn.”
Though Apple TV+ hasn’t confirmed an official premiere date for Season 4, projections suggest the new episodes will likely drop in late 2025 or early 2026. With production just around the corner and the creative team firing on all cylinders, expectations are sky-high for what’s next.
Ted Lasso, which stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and Brett Goldstein, continues to captivate viewers with its heartfelt storytelling and evolving cast dynamics. As the series prepares for its next act, fans are already counting down the days until football returns to Richmond—this time with a new pitch and fresh challenges.
