Everything We Know About Ryan Gosling’s ‘The Fall Guy’!

After collaborating with Greta Gerwig on ‘Barbie’, Ryan Gosling’s upcoming feature is with director David Leitch, as they take on to reboot the 1980s TV series ‘The Fall Guy’. Here’s everything you need to know!

Ryan Gosling was the scene stealer in this year’s global sensation Barbie, in a world full of Barbies all our eyes were on Ken, and rightfully so. Gosling has an amazing range playing a variety of characters from Ken to Bladerunner 2049’s Officer K to now playing a stuntman Colt in The Fall Guys, he can do it all effortlessly. The upcoming film sees him as a Hollywood stuntman who gets caught up in a real-world dangerous mission and the premise leaves the door open for not only great action but also a thrilling story that Leitch is quite adept at.

Plot

The movie follows Colt, a past-his-prime stuntman, who finds himself working on the movie set of his ex-girlfriend with the A-list star for whom he doubled a long time ago. When the star goes missing, and the film is in danger of being shut down, Colt volunteers to investigate the disappearance and find the missing actor. While the original TV series saw actor Lee Majors’ as a stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter, the new premise sounds very promising. Leith directs from a screenplay by Drew Pearce, whose credits include features like Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Iron Man 3, Hobbs & Shaw, and more. Fans can rest assured they are going to witness epic action sequences as well as a story that’ll tug at their hearts.

Cast

Along with Gosling the movie also cast Emily Blunt as Jody Moreno, Colt’s ex-girlfriend who is directing her first film, Winston Duke as Colt’s best friend and stunt coordinator, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Tom Ryder, the famous action movie star Colt doubles for. Also in the cast are Hannah Waddingham as Gail, Jody’s executive producer, Stephanie Hsu as Ryder’s personal assistant, and Teresa Palmer. Furthermore, Majors, who starred in the original TV series, will also appear in the film.

Trailer

The first trailer for the movie is out and it’s all things fun and fearless. It showcases the epic scale of the set pieces with explosions, fights, and helicopter stunts as well as giving a great peak into Gosling and Blunt’s chemistry. The trailer leans into various comedic elements and gives the movie a similar tone to Lietch’s last action-comedy Bullet Train.

Release Date

Universal will release The Fall Guy exclusively in movie theaters on March 1, 2024, before it eventually lands on Peacock.
