Netflix has unveiled details for its upcoming feature Jay Kelly, the latest project from Academy Award nominee Noah Baumbach. The film will first premiere in select theaters on November 14 before arriving on the streamer globally on December 5.
Directed by Baumbach, who also co-wrote the script with Emily Mortimer, Jay Kelly follows a famous movie actor, played by George Clooney, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Alongside his devoted manager Ron, portrayed by Adam Sandler, Jay confronts both his past and present. The film promises a blend of poignancy and humor, balancing life’s regrets with moments of glory.
The all-star cast includes Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, Eve Hewson, Greta Gerwig, Alba Rohrwacher, Josh Hamilton, Lenny Henry, Emily Mortimer, Nicôle Lecky, Thaddea Graham, Isla Fisher, Louis Partridge, and Charlie Rowe.
Jay Kelly is produced by David Heyman, Amy Pascal, and Noah Baumbach, with Baumbach reuniting with frequent collaborators across the production team. Nicholas Britell provides the original score, while Academy Award winner Linus Sandgren handles cinematography. Editing is by Valerio Bonelli and Rachel Durance, with sound from Christopher Scarabosio.
