Celebs Who Love The Movie Cats

The new movie, Cats, is a cultural phenomenon, one that we’re not soon to forget, and has had an impact on everyone who has seen it.

As anyone who has access to the internet has seen, since the film’s release, it’s getting a lot of press, but not necessarily the good kind. Despite having an all-star cast, with names such as Dame Judy Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo, Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and James Corden, the film is losing money.

According to Deadline, the film is estimated to lose around $71 million, and that’s IF it can manage to make $100 million at the box office.

With all the negativity surrounding the movie and with people definitely voicing their dislike of the film, there are still some celebrities who thought this film was purrfect!

Katherine Sophie

Sophie took a night off from cupcake-making to see this film and loved it! She tweeted, “@catsmovie is AMAZING! If you understand and love the broadway show you will LOVE the movie!! The cast was perfect!”

She loved it so much she fully capitalized two words!

Andy Mientus

Mientus tweeted, “It should come as no surprise to you that I loved Cats.”

He’s a broadway star and a cat owner so he knows what he’s talking about!

McKenna Grace

Grace may be only 13, but she has opinions, and her opinion is you need to see this film! “Just saw CATS! I’m a huge fan of the play and the movie didn’t disappoint! Victoria the white cat was played brilliantly! Jennifer Hudson’s emotion in her singing was. The music, the dancing, the songs, the singing… all of it!!! @catsmovie”

She loved it so much she even dressed up!

I think you need to see this movie, you better do it or she may sick Annabelle on you!

These next celebs didn’t necessarily say they loved the film, but hey, they loved it enough to say something.

Mara Wilson

Wilson tweeted out quoting one of Judi Dench’s lines from the film following up, “Yes, I saw it”

She saw it and liked it enough to quote it. That has to count for something!

Brie Larson

Larsen tweeted after getting an email from Fandango asking her how she liked the film, “Where do I begin.”

We like to think that the next line would be “This film was the best thing I’ve ever seen!” But, we shall never know…

Lucy Lawless

Lawless tweeted out, “Thanks to all the reviews and this video, I now absolutely have to see this movie!”

Ok, she technically hasn’t seen the film, but If Xena Warrior Princess WANTS to see the film it can’t be that bad.

Kay Cannon

Cannon tweeted out after watching the film, “Was just reminded of a GREAT @KimmySchmidt joke while watching #CatsMovie. TITUSS: (performing as a cat in Broadway show) “Look I’m a triple threat! I can sing, I can dance, and I just found a gun!”

She reminded us this show is so great it has crossed three different platforms: stage, film, and television!

Whether you like the film, you can’t deny the fact that this film is being talked about and discussed more than most and remember there are many films that are heavily disliked at first, then become beloved cult classics down the road.
