He’s Named After A Poem

Lin Manuel Miranda was named after a poem about the Vietnam War, “Nana roja para mi hijo Lin Manuel”. Artistic name choices seem to run in the family since he named his son Sebastian after the lobster in The Little Mermaid.

If Lin Manuel Miranda Wins An Oscar, He Will Be The Third PEGOT Winner

As if being an EGOT winner wasn’t prestigious enough, Lin Manuel Miranda is very close to becoming a PEGOT winner. A PEGOT winner is someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony and a Pulitzer prize.

His Kids Are Tired Of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has been stuck in everyone’s minds for the past few months, but his kids have heard it for way longer. The song is not only a TikTok sensation, but it is the first song from a Disney movie to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since “A Whole New World” from Aladdin in 1993.

He Was An English Teacher

Before being an international sensation, Lin Manuel Miranda was an English teacher. Needless to say, being Lin Manuel Miranda’s student is definitely a flex. In the early stages of his career he worked on multiple projects to support himself. He even wrote jingles for politicians.

Hamilton Took 7 Years To Write

One day Lin Manuel Miranda randomly bought a biography on Alexander Hamilton, which inspired the entire musical. However, the show’s success isn’t accidental. Lin Manuel Miranda started working on the musical in 2009. Some songs such as “Alexander Hamilton” and “My Shot” took him one year each.

His Kids Are Good Beta Testers

In an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he confessed that in the early stages of creating Encanto his son begged him to watch “an actual kids movie”. This scared Lin Manuel and took him back to the drawing board. His kids are great beta tester of his work.
