Viola Davis will lead and produce the conspiracy thriller Ally Clark for Amazon MGM, with Phillip Noyce set to direct the high-stakes film.
After the success of G20, Viola Davis is once again teaming up with Amazon MGM Studios, this time as the star and producer of Ally Clark, an upcoming conspiracy thriller set to be directed by genre veteran Phillip Noyce.
Noyce, known for helming edge-of-your-seat hits like Clear and Present Danger, Salt, and Rabbit-Proof Fence, will take the director’s chair for the film, which is currently in development.
In Ally Clark, Viola Davis will portray the title character, an investigator thrust into a dangerous web of deceit following the suspicious death of a close friend. Her pursuit of the truth will take her from the political corridors of Washington, D.C. to the steamy bayous of Louisiana and the icy terrain of Alaska.
The script, penned by Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler, promises a gripping international thriller that will once again showcase Davis’s commanding screen presence.
Irwin Winkler, best known for producing classics like Rocky, Goodfellas, and The Alto Knights, is also producing the film through Winkler Films, alongside Charlies Winkler, David Winkler, and Ruisanchez. Davis joins the producing team through her company JuVee Productions, with her husband and producing partner Julius Tennon. Melanie Clark, also of JuVee, will serve as executive producer.
Viola Davis’s previous collaboration with Amazon MGM, the April 2025 release G20, made a major impact, debuting at number one on Nielsen’s movie chart in its first week with 516 million minutes streamed. She not only starred in the action thriller as the U.S. President under siege, but also produced the film through JuVee Productions.
