The first Scream 7 trailer teases Neve Campbell’s long-awaited return as Sidney Prescott as she faces a terrifying new Ghostface threat.
Sidney Prescott is back — and she’s not running this time. Paramount and Spyglass have released the official trailer for Scream 7, the latest chapter in the long-running horror franchise, marking Neve Campbell’s return as the legendary final girl who started it all. The film slashes its way into theaters on February 27, 2026.
The trailer confirms what fans have been waiting to see for years: Sidney is stepping back into the fight against Ghostface. The new story finds her living a quiet life in a small town — until a new killer emerges, targeting her daughter, played by Isabel May. As her worst nightmare returns, Sidney must confront her past and face her old enemy head-on in what promises to be one of the franchise’s most emotional and terrifying entries yet.
Adding to the excitement, Scream creator Kevin Williamson, who wrote the 1996 original that launched the series, is back behind the camera for the first time, directing from a script he co-wrote with Guy Busick. The story comes from Busick and James Vanderbilt, the duo responsible for 2023’s Scream VI, which shifted the blood-soaked action to New York City and earned more than $166.6 million worldwide.
Alongside Campbell, Courteney Cox also returns to reprise her role as Gale Weathers, continuing her run as one of horror’s most enduring survivors. The new cast lineup is packed with familiar and fresh faces, including Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
Production duties fall to William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein, ensuring this installment continues the franchise’s signature blend of sharp meta-humor, relentless suspense, and shocking twists.
With Campbell’s long-awaited return, Williamson’s creative direction, and a new Ghostface haunting Sidney’s family, Scream 7 looks poised to close out the series’ latest chapter with blood, heart, and plenty of callbacks to its roots.
