Netflix’s Being Eddie Premieres November 12

Netflix debuts trailer for Being Eddie, the new documentary celebrating Eddie Murphy’s legendary career ahead of its November 12 premiere.

Netflix is celebrating one of comedy’s greatest icons with the upcoming documentary Being Eddie, premiering November 12, 2025. The streamer has unveiled the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated film, which dives deep into the laughter, legacy, and life of Eddie Murphy — a once-in-a-generation talent who redefined entertainment across comedy, film, and television.

Directed by two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall, Being Eddie brings together an impressive roster of stars and industry legends who have worked with, admired, and been inspired by Murphy over his nearly 50-year career. The film features appearances from Arsenio Hall, Brian Grazer, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jerry Seinfeld,  John Landis, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Ruth Carter, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tracy Morgan, and many more.

From his trailblazing days on Saturday Night Live straight out of high school to his unforgettable performances in hits like Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor, Doctor Dolittle, and Shrek, Murphy’s career has been defined by versatility, brilliance, and a refusal to be boxed in. The documentary captures his one-of-a-kind journey — from teen comic sharing stages with Jerry Seinfeld at 17, to becoming a global superstar who’s played a cop, a doctor, and a donkey, while effortlessly conquering every corner of Hollywood.

What sets Being Eddie apart is its unprecedented access. For the first time, Murphy invites viewers into his home and private world to reflect on his decades in the spotlight. The film explores not only his career highlights but also his discipline, humility, and resilience in maintaining longevity in an industry known for fleeting fame.

Produced by John Davis, John Fox, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, Terry Leonard, and Kent Kubena, Being Eddie is both a celebration and a revelation — an intimate look at the man behind the comedy who continues to shape the culture.

Being Eddie premieres November 12, only on Netflix.
