The newly revealed lineup highlights projects from Korea, Norway, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and India, reinforcing the streamer’s continued investment in stories from around the world.

Leading the January rollout is Can This Love Be Translated?, a Korean romantic comedy series premiering January 16, 2026. Written by the renowned Hong Sisters and directed by Yoo Young-eun, the series follows multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin and global celebrity Cha Mu-hee as a professional partnership evolves into an unexpected romance. Starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, the series blends heartwarming moments with unpredictable turns and aims to be the next fan-favorite rom-com.

In March, Netflix heads to Scandinavia with Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, debuting March 26, 2026. Created and written by crime fiction icon Jo Nesbø, the Norwegian series centers on brilliant yet tormented homicide detective Harry Hole, portrayed by Tobias Santelmann. The story unfolds as a tense serial killer mystery and character drama, pitting Hole against corrupt detective Tom Waaler, played by Joel Kinnaman. From Mexico comes México 86, a comedy steeped in satire and gallows humor that recounts the country’s improbable bid to host the 1986 World Cup. Directed by Gabriel Ripstein and executive produced by Diego Luna, the film stars Luna and highlights Mexican ingenuity against overwhelming odds.

In Japan, Netflix teams with Toho to reboot Human Vapor, reimagining the studio’s 1960 classic as a modern scripted series. Directed by Shinzo Katayama and written by Yeon Sang-ho and Ryu Yong-jae, the story centers on an unstoppable gaseous mutant committing ruthless crimes, with Shun Oguri and Yu Aoi starring.

Rounding out the slate is India’s Operation Safed Sagar, set during the Kargil War.
