Justin Bieber to release surprise seventh album this Friday featuring Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain in first project since 2021.
Justin Bieber is back with a brand new album — and it’s arriving sooner than fans expected. The pop superstar is set to release his highly anticipated seventh studio album this Friday, July 11, through Def Jam, sources confirm exclusively.
While the title remains unconfirmed, viral billboards popping up in both Iceland and Los Angeles simply reading “Swag” — alongside Bieber’s image — have sparked speculation that it may be the name of the new record. Bieber himself fanned the flames by sharing what looks like a tracklist and finished mixes on Instagram, with photos revealing a ProTools session dated June 30.
The album marks Bieber’s first full-length project since 2021’s Justice, and it’s been years in the making. Sources say Bieber traveled to Iceland in April to finalize the project, hosting jam sessions and putting the final touches on the music in a relaxed, creative setting. The retreat reportedly helped Bieber “vibe out” with collaborators and polish the sound of the record.
The new album boasts an impressive guest lineup, including Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain — all of whom Bieber has shown love to on social media in recent months. Additional behind-the-scenes collaborators reportedly include his longtime DJ Tay James, musical director HARV, SZA producer Carter Lang, Australian artist Eddie Benjamin, U.K. singer-songwriter Sekou, and producer Dylan Wiggins (known for work with Kali Uchis and The Weeknd).
This album arrives at a transformative time in Bieber’s life and career. Since his last release, he welcomed a child with wife Hailey Bieber, and in 2023, parted ways with his longtime manager Scooter Braun. The two recently resolved their financial dispute tied to the cancellation of Bieber’s Justice world tour, which had left the artist with a multi-million dollar debt to AEG. Braun covered the cost at the time, and their business relationship — which once included a record label and film ventures — has since been formally dissolved.
In a landmark move, Bieber’s catalog was sold to Hipgnosis Songs (now Recognition Music) in a reported $200 million deal, one of the biggest music acquisitions ever for an artist under 30. Meanwhile, Hailey Bieber also made headlines after selling her Rhode Beauty brand to e.l.f. Beauty for a staggering $1 billion, a company in which Braun was an early investor.
With a new chapter beginning and a new album on the horizon, Justin Bieber is ready to reintroduce himself to the music world — starting this Friday.
