Happy Gilmore 2 is breaking Netflix records as KPop Demon Hunters and UNTAMED continue to dominate the global Top 10 streaming charts.
Happy Gilmore 2 teed off in spectacular fashion, landing at No. 1 on Netflix’s English Film List for the week of July 21–27 and smashing multiple records along the way. The sequel to Adam Sandler’s beloved comedy racked up a staggering 46.7 million views in just its first three days — making it not only the most-watched Netflix title of the week, but also the biggest U.S. opening weekend for any Netflix film ever, and the highest debut for any Adam Sandler Netflix movie to date.
Fans didn’t just stop with the new film — they also revisited the original Happy Gilmore, which returned to the Top 10 at No. 3 with 11.4 million views. Sandler’s animated hit Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation also got a bump, coming in at No. 7 with 4.5 million views.
Meanwhile, KPop Demon Hunters continued its worldwide reign. The animated action hit from the HUNTR/X trio rose to No. 2 with another 26.3 million views in its sixth week, officially becoming Netflix’s most popular animated film of all time. The group’s song “Golden” also shot back to No. 1 on the Billboard global chart, confirming their grip on both streaming and music charts.
Over in English TV, UNTAMED held strong at No. 1. The thriller, starring Eric Bana as a park ranger uncovering secrets in Yosemite National Park, more than doubled its viewership with 26.1 million views. It now boasts a Top 10 slot in 92 countries — and was just renewed for a second season.
Korean content continued its global dominance, with Squid Game Season 3 holding the No. 1 spot on the Non-English TV List for a fifth week (4.6 million views). New thriller Trigger joined at No. 4 (2.9 million views), while Wall to Wall, starring Squid Game‘s Kang Ha-neul, led the Non-English Film List with 7.8 million views.
Tyler Perry fans checked in from the Bahamas as Madea’s Destination Wedding hit No. 6 in its third week on the English Film List (4.6 million views), while documentaries also made a strong showing. Amy Bradley Is Missing took No. 2 on the English TV List (10.2 million views), followed by Critical: Between Life and Death at No. 7 (2 million views). Trainwreck: P.I. Moms, a deep dive into a chaotic early-2000s reality series, debuted at No. 5 in English Film (4.8 million views).
In anime, My Melody & Kuromi premiered in the No. 2 spot on the Non-English TV List (4.3 million views), with DAN DA DAN Season 2 landing at No. 3 (3.1 million views) and Tougen Anki at No. 10 (1.6 million views).
DC fans rallied for The Sandman, which returned with its final season and climbed to No. 4 on the English TV List (3.3 million views). Dark comedy Sirens, starring Meghann Fahy, Julianne Moore, and Milly Alcock, slipped back into the Top 10 at No. 8 (1.8 million views).
From heart-pounding thrillers to nostalgic comedies and K-pop-powered adventures, the week’s Top 10 proved that streaming audiences are more diverse — and loyal — than ever.
