Grace Van Patten Stars in Amanda Knox Hulu Drama

Grace Van Patten confronts the past as Amanda Knox in Hulu’s gripping limited series that explores a 16-year fight for truth and freedom.

Grace Van Patten steps into one of the most controversial headlines of the 21st century in Hulu’s The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, a limited series premiering August 20. In the newly released trailer, the Tell Me Lies star embodies Amanda Knox in a dramatization of the woman’s long journey to reclaim her life after being wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher.

“For 15 years, I’ve been defined by something that I didn’t do,” Van Patten says in the trailer, echoing the real-life anguish Knox endured. The show promises to peel back the media frenzy and public perception surrounding Knox’s case, inviting viewers into a story shaped by injustice, scrutiny, and the relentless pursuit of truth.

The series, which Knox herself co-produces alongside Monica Lewinsky, spans more than a decade, tracking the events from Knox’s arrest in Perugia, Italy, to her fight to clear her name. “Many people think they know my story,” Van Patten’s Knox declares in the first trailer. “But now, finally, it’s my turn to tell it.”

Hulu’s dramatization poses a powerful question: If no one believes the truth, does it even exist? The emotional trailer suggests a deeply personal and psychological journey through legal nightmares, public vilification, and a woman’s struggle to take back her narrative.

Created by This Is Us executive producer KJ Steinberg, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is produced by 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company. The project features a powerhouse behind-the-scenes team including executive producers Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield, Lewinsky (via Alt Ending Productions), Knox and Chris Robinson (Knox Robinson Productions), and director Michael Uppendahl.

Rounding out the cast are Sharon Horgan, John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico, and Roberta Mattei.

The series will debut with two episodes on Wednesday, August 20, exclusively on Hulu. New episodes will roll out weekly through the finale on October 1.
