Godzilla X Kong: Supernova Sets 2027 Release Date

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova has begun production as Legendary announces the new title, release date, and cast for next Monsterverse epic.

Production is officially underway for the next chapter in Legendary’s Monsterverse, and it now has a name: Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. The upcoming epic, directed by I Am Mother’s Grant Sputore, is set to storm theaters on March 26, 2027, continuing the explosive saga of the Titans.

Legendary revealed the title and release date along with a sneak peek teaser, giving fans their first taste of what’s to come. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova follows the massive success of 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise.

This new installment will introduce several new human characters who must band together with Godzilla and Kong to battle a cataclysmic, world-ending threat. The cast is packed with star power, featuring Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Sam Neill, and Dan Stevens, who reprises his role as the rugged veterinarian Trapper Beasley.

The screenplay is penned by Dave Callaham, best known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Launched in 2014 with Godzilla, the Monsterverse has since expanded with films like Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as well as the animated Netflix series Skull Island and the Apple TV+ show Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. With over $2.5 billion in global box office earnings, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.

As production heats up, all eyes are now on Godzilla x Kong: Supernova to see how it raises the stakes and continues the titanic legacy of the Monsterverse.
