Game Show Winners: Where Are They Now?

We’re taking a look at game show winners who have won big and what they are up to now!

Ever watched a game show and thought, “Wow, what are they gonna do with all that money?”

Well, we might have an answer for you! We’re looking at past game show contestants that won big to find out what they’re up to now!

Amber Scholl – The Price is Right

You may recognize Amber Scholl from a few different places. One, she was on and won a Showcase on The Price is Right! Two, she’s a popular Youtuber with over 3.3 million subscribers! That’s right, Amber was on the show in the early 2010s. In her showcase, she won ice cream for a year and a trip to Italy! You can check her out on Youtube where she posts DIYs and fun glam content!

John Carpenter – Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Another game show legend, John Carpenter not only won the million dollars on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but he did it in style! Carpenter didn’t need any help as he cruised through the question sets with ease. Before answering the final question (yup, the one for one million dollars) Carpenter elected to use one of his three lifelines allotted to him during the game. He called his father and simply said, “I don’t need your help. I just wanted to let you know I’m going to win the million dollars.” He proceeded to correctly answer the final question, leaving the audience stunned! As of 2017, John was still working at the IRS and living in New England.

Ken Jennings – Jeopardy

This list would not be complete without this legendary game show winner! Ken Jennings is well-known for dominating Jeopardy for 74 straight episodes in the early 2000s. His winnings totaled around $4.5 million. That’s not all though, he also went on to other shows like Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? and won even more! Jennings told Forbes in a recent interview that he’s saved up the majority of his winnings and is now working as a spokesman for Tracfone Wireless. He even frequently gives advice on how to beat the Jeopardy buzzer system. Sounds like Ken is doing just fine!

Tomorrow Rodriguez – Deal or No Deal

This Deal or No Deal contestant took home one million dollars in 2008. She was the second person in the U.S. to win that much money off a game show! In a 2018 interview with CNBC, Rodriguez stated that she paid off her hefty student debt with the money and donated to various charities. She also was working at an at-risk youth center. Tomorrow’s story wasn’t all perfect though, she has also expressed that winning the large sum of money changed her relationship with people around her and she urged other winners to get a financial advisor.
