Galactus Arrives In Fantastic Four Final Trailer

Galactus is bringing planetary destruction as Marvel reveals final trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps ahead of its July 25 release.

The final trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps has officially landed—and with it, the long-awaited arrival of Marvel’s next cosmic-level threat: Galactus.

Premiering Wednesday, the action-packed new footage finally teases a closer look at the towering, world-devouring villain played by Ralph Ineson, as Marvel’s iconic “First Family” faces their biggest challenge yet. While earlier trailers focused on the mysterious Silver Surfer—portrayed by Julia Garner—this latest preview gives fans a glimpse of Galactus’s devastating impact as he sets his sights on Earth.

Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) must band together to stop the godlike threat in a high-stakes battle that could reshape the multiverse.

The film is set in a stylized, retro-futuristic version of the 1960s and exists in an alternate timeline from the main MCU continuity—at least for now. As revealed in the Thunderbolts post-credits scene, the Fantastic Four will eventually cross over into the primary Marvel universe. That teaser featured characters like Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, and Red Guardian pausing mid-mission to witness the Fantastic Four’s ship racing toward Earth—a scene that was actually filmed for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, as confirmed by Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier.

Though details about Galactus have been closely guarded until now, director Matt Shakman confirmed a major creative decision: the cosmic villain was brought to life through practical effects and costuming—not just CGI. “We’ve built an entire costume for him,” Shakman said, adding that extensive photography testing was used to get the scale just right. “How do you film Mount Rushmore?” he quipped.

Fans may also notice Garner’s Silver Surfer comes with a twist. “Wait, isn’t the Silver Surfer a man?” she teased in a recent interview. Her portrayal promises a fresh take on the character, who serves as Galactus’s shining herald and the harbinger of doom in this epic new chapter.

Fantastic Four: First Steps blasts into theaters on July 25, officially ushering Marvel’s legendary team into the MCU fold—with high stakes, massive scale, and a villain who means business.
