He’s Held Roles in Notable Shows

Joe’s most memorable acting credit traces all the way back to 2011 when he showed up in an episode of the British TV series Postcode.

Quinn depicted Arthur Havisham on the BBC One series, Dickensian in 2016, telling Nuit Magazine at the time that he delighted in acting in period pieces since there is something, “timeless about the human experience.”

The actor additionally made guest appearances on Game of Thrones in 2018 and HBO’s Catherine The Great in 2019, working closely with Helen Mirren.

He Attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art

In an interview with Nuit Magazine a couple of years back, Quinn shared that he was enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), a renowned drama school in the UK.

In the same interview, he also shared that in the event that he wasn’t acting, he’d most likely be “on a beach, doing something for very little money and being happy.”

Metallica & Sabbath- THIS IS MUSIC!

Eddie Munson is a committed metalhead. In case you missed it, in the scene where the Hawkins team frantically attempts to find Nancy’s music to wake her up from Vecna’s daze, Eddie grips an Iron Maiden tape and pronounces, “THIS IS MUSIC!”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Quinn listed the bands he paid attention to most to get ready for the job — and in view of his performance in the finale, it’s no surprise that he listened to “a lot of Metallica.”

“And I listen to a lot of Black Sabbath, mainly Black Sabbath’s ‘Master of Reality.’ That album was going around in my head for years,” he also shared.

He Was Intimidated to Join The Cast

In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, Quinn discussed that it was “daunting” to join the series in the fourth season, but he is “grateful” for his experience on the show.

Further going on about his co-stars, the actor also shared that they were “really nice people” and “everything you’d expect.”

But fans really enjoyed the actor’s friendship with Jamie Campbell Bower, the actor who plays terrifying Vecna.

It Only Took 2 Audition Tapes for Quinn to Land The Role

Quinn scored his breakout role with Stranger Things, and in an interview with Vulture, he depicted his audition process as “pretty straightforward.”

“Back home in London, I sent two tapes to the Duffer brothers. I sent one, they asked for another, and then they offered me the part,” he went on. “It was disarming. I had never worked in America before, and my friends and colleagues would talk about these grueling, gladiatorial auditions. Going back to expectations, I expected nothing from those tapes. I sent them off and they gave me the part. I don’t understand why but I’m very glad they did.”

We are very glad they did, as well.
