Tony Awards 2025: Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, and Buena Vista Social Club lead nominations ahead of June 8 ceremony.
The curtain has officially risen on the 78th annual Tony Awards season, and the race is heating up. Nominees for Broadway’s biggest night were announced Thursday morning in New York City by Tony Award winners Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce. This year’s top contenders include Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, and Buena Vista Social Club, each scoring an impressive 10 nominations apiece.
Star power is high this year, with major Hollywood names in the running.
