Cameron Diaz returns to lead Netflix’s new action-comedy Bad Day, now in production in New Jersey with a star-studded ensemble cast.
Netflix is kicking off production on its upcoming action-comedy Bad Day, with Cameron Diaz leading an all-star cast in what promises to be one of the streamer’s funniest and most chaotic new films. Currently shooting in New Jersey, the feature brings together an impressive lineup of comedic and dramatic talent under the direction of Jake Szymanski, from a script by Laura Solon.
Joining Diaz in the ensemble cast are Ed O’Neill (Modern Family, Clipped), Danielle Brooks (Minecraft, The Color Purple), John Higgins (Saturday Night Live, Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain), Rhenzy Feliz (The Penguin, the upcoming How to Rob a Bank), Jessica Belkin (Elle, The Hunting Wives), Emma Pearson (The Artist, FBI: Most Wanted), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso, Veep), Rob Corddry (The Audacity, Bookie), Mark Duplass (The Morning Show, Paddleton), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog, The Afterparty), Ayden Mayeri (Jackpot!, I Love That for You), and K Callan (Knives Out, Sew Torn).
The film follows a single mother who finds herself fighting to keep one small promise to her daughter on what turns out to be the worst day of her life. Blending high-energy action with heartfelt comedy, Bad Day explores how far one woman will go to make things right when absolutely everything goes wrong.
The movie is produced by Beau Bauman for Good One Productions, with Laura Solon and Mark Moran serving as executive producers.
With a mix of beloved comedy veterans and rising stars, Bad Day marks another exciting chapter in Diaz’s return to the screen and signals Netflix’s continued investment in big-hearted, high-concept comedies with global appeal.
Bad Day is currently in production in New Jersey and will debut exclusively on Netflix.
