Yorgos Lanthimos’ critically acclaimed psychological thriller Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, begins streaming exclusively on Peacock starting December 26.
Peacock is adding another critically acclaimed film to its growing streaming lineup. Focus Features’ Bugonia, the latest psychological thriller from five-time Academy Award nominee Yorgos Lanthimos, will begin streaming exclusively on Peacock on December 26.
Certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Bugonia has drawn strong praise from both critics and audiences, with outlets hailing the film as “a modern masterpiece” and describing Lanthimos as a “master provocateur.” The film has also earned significant awards recognition, scoring three Golden Globe Award nominations and three Critics Choice Award nominations.
The film stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone. Lanthimos directs from a screenplay by Will Tracy, delivering a tense and unsettling story that blends paranoia, dark humor and psychological suspense.
Bugonia centers on two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the powerful CEO of a major corporation, convinced she is an alien plotting to destroy Earth. The film runs 118 minutes and leans fully into its off-kilter premise, a signature of Lanthimos’ provocative storytelling style.
The film is produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos, Emma Stone, Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, Miky Lee and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko, with production credits reflecting a collaboration of acclaimed creative voices behind the scenes.
Bugonia joins Peacock’s expanding slate of high-profile films, as Universal’s biggest releases stream first on the platform. Subscribers gain access to award-winning titles and blockbuster favorites from Universal Pictures, Blumhouse, Focus Features, Illumination and DreamWorks Animation, often paired with bonus features, extended cuts and unrated versions.
Bugonia will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock beginning December 26. Viewers can find more details and watch the official trailer directly on Peacock’s platform.
