Brad Pitt Reveals The Two Women Who Left Him Starstruck

Brad Pitt has shared the screen with countless Hollywood heavyweights, but only two women have ever truly left him truly starstruck.

Even Brad Pitt isn’t immune to being starstruck. The Oscar-winning actor recently shared the only two women in Hollywood who have ever truly left him in awe — and it all goes back to the early ’90s.

In a candid appearance on the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, the 61-year-old opened up about the moment that stunned him during his big Hollywood break. “When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was [starstruck],” Brad Pitt admitted. “Yeah. I got over it quickly, though.”

The moment came during filming for Thelma & Louise, the 1991 film that catapulted Brad Pitt into the spotlight as the charming drifter J.D., who seduces Geena Davis’ Thelma before swiping the women’s cash. The role may have been small, but it made a major impact — not just on audiences, but also on his co-stars.

In a past interview with W Magazine, Brad Pitt described Geena Davis as “so sweet and kind and delicate,” recalling that their sex scene took two full days to shoot, with Geena Davis guiding him through the process. Geena Davis herself told PEOPLE that she immediately saw something special in Brad Pitt during his audition, calling him “super talented” and noting, “He just has it.”

As for Susan Sarandon, she also sang Brad Pitt’s praises, telling Extra in 2021 that she noticed something beyond the actor’s striking looks: “He took it as a character part… he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn’t have to when you look like that.”

Thelma & Louise continues to be a pivotal project for all involved. Geena Davis has called it life-changing, saying it shifted the trajectory of her career and sparked meaningful conversations with fans. “It was completely different in that people wanted to talk to me about it… and how it impacted them,” she reflected during a 2024 panel alongside Susan Sarandon and Mira Sorvino.

With career-defining performances from Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, Thelma & Louise cemented itself as a feminist film classic. And as Pitt himself admits, it also gave him a rare fanboy moment — one that quickly gave way to a legendary career of his own.
