The first Wicked: For Good trailer has dropped and it reveals high-flying drama, emotional music, and the long-awaited finale to Elphaba and Glinda’s journey!
Wicked: For Good has officially taken flight, and the highly anticipated first trailer is nothing short of magical. The final chapter in the Wicked saga, directed by Jon M. Chu, promises an epic and emotional end to the tale of friendship, power, and identity that began on stage and continued on screen.
Premiering in theaters on November 21, Wicked: For Good reunites audiences with Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Picking up after Elphaba’s show-stopping flight in “Defying Gravity,” the sequel finds her branded as the enemy of Oz. With Jeff Goldblum’s Wizard and Michelle Yeoh’s Madame Morrible out to capture her, Elphaba continues her mission from the shadows—defending the silenced and misunderstood.
Meanwhile, Glinda embraces her new royal role and prepares for her wedding to Jonathan Bailey’s Fiyero, who is stepping into his “good guy era.” But the path to peace won’t be easy, as the arrival of Dorothy looms. As teased in the trailer, audiences will also discover the origins of Oz’s most beloved characters—The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, and The Cowardly Lion.
While the second film will feature familiar hits like “As Long As You’re Mine” and “No Good Deed”, fans can also expect brand-new songs. Legendary composer Stephen Schwartz has crafted fresh additions to the musical’s score, including one track that reportedly moved the cast and crew to tears during filming.
“It’s powerful,” Cynthia Erivo teased of the emotional new ballad she performs. “I don’t know if you’re ready for it.”
Packed with dazzling visuals, soaring vocals, and a heartfelt storyline, Wicked: For Good is set to close out the two-part film adaptation in unforgettable fashion. Until its release, fans can revisit the first part now streaming on Peacock—and prepare for one last trip to the Emerald City.
