Which Margot Robbie Movie Character Are You Feeling Today?

In honor of Margot Robbie’s birthday, we’re sharing what character and film you should watch depending on your mood!

Margot Robbie has an exceptional range and depicts many real-life, layered characters in her films. Whether it be her erotic portrayal of Naomi Lapaglia or the wild, daring role of Harley Quinn, she can do it all.

Sensational: Sharon Tate – Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

If you’re feeling like you want to watch a sensational Hollywood movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is the one for you! While both Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio portray “Quentin Tarantino characters,” the famous director wanted Margot Robbie’s depiction of Sharon Tate to remain “the person that she is.” While Robbie doesn’t have much dialogue, she doesn’t fall short of embodying the 60s actress. The dancing scenes, chic outfits, and whirlwind of people surrounding her transcended Robbie into the sensational Tate. It is almost as if Pitt and Dicaprio’s characters, Cliff Booth and Rick Dalton were watching her from afar.

Scandalous: Naomi Lapaglia – The Wolf of Wall Street

“From now on, it’s going to be nothing but short, short skirts around the house!”

If you’re feeling scandalous, this Martin Scorsese film is just for you! Robbie portrays the confident and bold-minded wife married to the infamous stockbroker, Jordan Belfort. The sexual tension at the beginning between the two in this film is wickedly enticing. However, the cathartic bedroom scene where Lapaglia will not let Belfort near her is the epitome of scandalous. She uses her sexuality as a weapon.

Adventurous: Harley Quinn – Suicide Squad

If you’re feeling adventurous and daring, Suicide Squad will take you on an ultimate ride. When the government sends the most dangerous criminals in the world on a mission, all hell breaks loose. Margot Robbie plays the wildly, vicious Harley Quinn, who is impossible to predict while she struts around swinging a baseball bat. Her blue and red pigtails and vibrant red lipsticks turn heads and her fierce-fighting portrayal landed her a Critics Choice Award for Best Actress.

Empowering: Kayla Pospisil – Bombshell

“Someone has to speak out, someone has to get mad!”

If you’re feeling empowered, bold and need some strength to stand up for yourself, this drama will push you in the right direction. Bombshell depicts the corrupt nature displayed behind the scenes at Fox News. Robbie plays the newbie forced to conform to the norms set in place by the chief executive of the news station. Her raw emotions exhibited are enough to send chills down your spine and bring tears to your eyes. The way Robbie navigates her character, Kayla, makes the audience sympathize with her and become an advocate for the other woman along the way.

Thrilling: Tonya Harding – I, Tonya

If you want a good thrill and love competition, I, Tonya will have you on the edge of your seat. This film is based on the true story of figure skater Tonya Harding and her rival Nancy Kerrigan. The two competed head to head for a spot on the Olympic team. Margot Robbie takes on this role with grace and compassion. She depicts the grueling life of the infamous skater. Robbie describes the many hurdles she had to cross – learning Tonya’s accent, mannerisms and skating techniques – to turn this role into a masterpiece.

Nostalgia: Barbie – Barbie

“Come on Barbie, let’s go party!”

If you’re feeling nostalgic about your childhood or want to feel like a little kid again, this is the movie for you! In March of 1959, a toy named “Barbie” was launched by Ruth Handler and Mattel. Since then, Barbie has been a huge success worldwide, along with her sidekick Ken who was introduced two years following. Now, more than 60 years later, Barbie is coming to the big screen portrayed by none other than Margot Robbie. Between her blonde locks, dream house, pop-up camper and fun pink wardrobe, the transformation is remarkable. The film is set to debut in 2023 and we cannot wait to see real-life Barbie in action, skating on the beach with hunk Ken.
