We Have Your Must Watch Shows To Go Back To School While in Quarantine!

Having trouble getting excited to go back to school while at home? We have some must watch shows to get you back in the school spirit!

Now that schools are back in session, but most of us are still in quarantine, we have a few shows that you can find on streaming services to get you in the mood to go back to school, from home!

Boy Meets World

This show is a classic!

It didn’t just take place mainly at school, but the iconic teacher, Mr. Feeny, also lived next door giving him the ability to impart words of wisdom both in and out of school. Mr. Feeny not only shaped the lives of Cory, Shawn, Eric, and Topanga, but all of us at home as well and gave us one of the most iconic TV lines of all time.

Boy Meets World was full of comedy, love, and life lessons. It made us all hope that we would have a love as pure and lasting as Cory and Topanga, a friendship as true as Cory and Shawn, a teacher as caring as Mr. Feeny, and a family as supportive as the Matthews!

You can watch all the seasons of Boy Meets World on Disney+.

Riverdale

The fan favorite Riverdale brought our favorite comic book characters to life in a way we could have never expected, but are so glad they did.

The show is also full of powerful women and has taken on storylines in a way the original comic books never could.

If nothing else you have to check out this show for the amazing musical episodes!

Riverdale is currently available to stream on Netflix!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

We could not make this list without including the baddest of them all!

Buffy was a cheerleader by day, but a vampire slayer by night. She had to hold down high school, friendship, monsters, and the moral quandaries around falling in love with the very thing it’s your duty to destroy, you know, just a normal day.

It was amazing for girls everywhere to see not just a main character that was a woman, but one that was so powerful, confident, and determined.

You can watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Hulu!

Sex Education

This show is all around one of the most important and amazing shows ever!

Not only is it doing a huge service by educating the masses on proper sexual practices and concerns, but it’s also at its core is a film about wanting to fit in and find love.

The characters are written in such a relatable and lovable way while also bringing insanely funny moments and scenarios that not only make you laugh, but normalize the conversation around sex as a whole.

Sex Education is available on Netflix!

Freaks and Geeks

This show never got the praise it deserved during the time it was on air, but has since become a cult classic.

It only ran one season but gave such a true look into the life of the outcasts in high school life.

Also can we talk about the cast? This show gave us amazing starting performances from Jason Segel, James Franco, Seth Rogan, Busy Phillips, John Francis Daley, Martin Starr, Sam Levine, and Linda Cardellini. It was also created by Paul Feig and executive produced by Judd Apatow so without this show who knows what the world of comedy would look like today.

Also on top of all that it had one of the most iconic theme songs of all time!

Ok, this one isn’t currently on streaming (Judd Apatow recently revealed it’s due to the music copyright not being cleared) but we had to include it on our list. Fingers crossed this wills it into existence!

PEN15

If you were born before 1995 and haven’t seen this show yet, what are you doing?

But seriously, this show is a fun and different take on a time period show. The two main characters are played by Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, both in their 30’s, and are essentially playing versions of themselves as 12/13 year olds, while the rest of the cast are played by actual 12/13 year olds. While this may sound weird the actresses play the parts so flawlessly you’ll find yourself forgetting what their actual age is.

If you were a preteen/teenager in the early 2000’s the themes of AIM, school dances, shaving your legs and so much more, you will be rolling on the floor in nostalgic laughter.

Even if you weren’t old enough in the early 2000’s to get a lot of the references, it’s worth a watch for the acting, the comedy, and a look into one of the best generations of all time! (Ok I may be biased on that one)

The show also brings conversations to the forefront that aren’t always discussed, such as female masturbation.

Season 1 of PEN15 is currently available on Hulu, and season 2 will be coming out on September 18th!
