Tom Holland Injured On Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set

Tom Holland has been hospitalized after suffering a concussion on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day set, forcing Marvel and Sony to pause filming plans.

Tom Holland has been hospitalized after sustaining a concussion while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to reports, the 29-year-old actor suffered the injury during a stunt gone wrong at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England, on Friday.

The accident occurred when Tom Holland “cracked his head” following a fall. He was treated for a mild concussion at the hospital before being released. No one else on set was hurt, but Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have paused filming as the actor recovers. Holland is expected to take several days off, while Sony executives reportedly met on Monday to discuss the project’s next steps.

Despite the injury, Tom Holland made a surprising public appearance just a day later. Alongside his fiancée and co-star Zendaya, he attended Christie’s auction house in London on Sept. 20 for a Brothers Trust charity event. Tom Holland, dressed in a black suit and bow tie, hosted a Posh Pub Quiz with his brothers, while Zendaya stunned in a black dress. The couple, who got engaged late last year, posed for photos that quickly made the rounds on social media.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day began filming in Glasgow, Scotland, on Aug. 1. The movie marks Tom Holland‘s fourth solo outing as the web-slinging superhero. Before filming kicked off, he teased the release date on Instagram, posting: “Are you ready? 7.31.2026.”

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is set between the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avengers: Doomsday. Zendaya will return as MJ, with Jacob Batalon reprising his role as Ned Leeds. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as the Scorpion. New additions to the Marvel ensemble include Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and The Bear actress Liza Colón-Zayas.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently spoke about Tom Holland’s next chapter as Peter Parker, explaining that Brand New Day will showcase a “proper Spider-Man” story—one that brings him back to street-level crime fighting after the multiverse chaos of No Way Home.

While production may be briefly delayed, fans can expect Spider-Man: Brand New Day to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
