The Breadwinner First Look Sets March 2026 Release

Nate Bargatze makes his feature film debut in the family comedy The Breadwinner, heading to theaters March 13, 2026, with Mandy Moore and a standout ensemble.

Record-breaking comedian Nate Bargatze is stepping onto the big screen for the first time with The Breadwinner, a new family comedy set for an exclusive theatrical release on March 13, 2026. First-look images from the film are now available, offering an early glimpse at Bargatze’s feature film debut.

The Breadwinner stars Bargatze as Nate Wilcox, a lifelong provider whose world is turned upside down when his wife, Katie, played by Mandy Moore, lands a once-in-a-lifetime deal on Shark Tank. The opportunity sends Katie on an extended business trip, leaving Nate at home to manage the household full-time for the first time in his life.

With three young daughters and very little experience handling the day-to-day demands of parenting, Nate quickly discovers that being a stay-at-home dad is far more challenging than any job he’s ever had. The film follows his misadventures as he struggles to keep everything running smoothly, learning the hard way that running a household may be the toughest gig of all.

The family-friendly comedy is directed by Eric Appel and written by Bargatze alongside Dan Lagana. Both also serve as producers on the film, joined by Jeremy Latcham. Executive producers include JoAnn Perritano, Michael Musgrave, and Tyler Zacharia. Credits are noted as not final, and the film has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association.

Joining Bargatze and Moore in the cast are Colin Jost, Zach Cherry, Martin Herlihy, Kate Berlant, Kumail Nanjiani, and Will Forte, rounding out a comedic ensemble that brings together stand-up, television, and film favorites.

With its mix of heartfelt family dynamics and comedic chaos, The Breadwinner positions Bargatze at the center of a relatable story about parenthood, partnership, and unexpected role reversals—marking a major milestone in his career as he transitions from stand-up stages to movie theaters.
