The 2020 Latin Grammy Nominations Are Out Now!

Rauw Alejandro, J Balvin, & More React To Their Latin Grammy Nominations

The 2019 Latin Grammy’s was a controversial one as many reggaeton artists were snubbed from the primary categories. This, in turn, left them extremely angry and ultimately boycotting the award show. Artists like Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and Nicky Jam publicly shamed the Latin Recording Academy for not recognizing the talented artists of 2019.

However, this year is a different story. The recognition we, as fans, and them as artists were longing for last year is definitely present now.

J Balvin leads the nominations with 13 followed by Bad Bunny who has nine, and Ozuna with eight.

The colombian artist also made history by having the most nominations in a single award show of the Latin Grammy’s in 21 years.

He even posted a throwback photo of him from ten years ago which highlighted that his hardwork and determination got him to where he is at now.

Colombian singer Feid was nominated for two Latin Grammys as well. His song ‘Porfa’ with Justin Quiles is up for ‘Best Reggaeton Performance’ while his album FERXXO is in the ‘Best Urban Music Album’ category.

He took to Instagram to announce how happy he was for his nominations as well as share a polaroid picture he took with a big number two balloon.

Other artists like Anuel AA, Rauw Alejandro, and Cazzu also received nominations in the ‘Best New Artist’ category.

Sebastian Yatra and Juanes got nods for their song ‘Bonita’ in categories ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Song’.

In his video, Yatra describes his excitement for his nominations and thanked everyone involved in making the song for all their support.

Just days after celebrating her birthday, Rosalia was nominated for four Latin Grammys. She took to Instagram to express her gratitude to the Academy and everyone for supporting her thus far.

Rosalia took home the gold last year at the Latin Grammys when she won four out of the five categories she was nominated in.

In addition, Becky G alongside Gente De Zona were nominated for ‘Best Urban Song’ with their collaboration on ‘Muchacha’

Another woman nominated for a Latin Grammy is Medellin’s own Karol G. She was nominated in four categories and celebrated her accomplishment with some dancing. Check it out!

Jhay Cortez also celebrated his two nominations on Instagram by telling his fans whoever wrote the most comments would receive a follow from him.

Jhay Cortez rose to fame with his song ‘No Me Conoce’ which later got a remix with J Balvin and Bad Bunny but he’s been in the industry for quite some time. He focused more on writing music versus singing but he now has opted into doing both and has two chances for a Latin Grammy this year.

The Latin Grammy Award show is set to take place on November 19, 2020 in Miami, FL.

AfterBuzz TV wishes all the nominees the best of luck on this important night for Latin music!
