We have your complete guide to summer TV! Here is what to watch, when new seasons premiere, and which exciting shows are debuting this season.
While network TV chills out during the off-season, streamers and cable are cranking up the drama, romance, action, and sci-fi. TV Guide has rounded up everything you need to know about summer TV 2025—from returning favorites to must-see debuts and monthly updates on cancellations and renewals.
Some of the biggest series are back this summer, including Wednesday, The Bear, The Gilded Age, and The Buccaneers. But that’s just the beginning. The season also marks the end of a global sensation with the finale of Squid Game, while highly anticipated new titles like Alien: Earth are stepping into the spotlight.
Among the new standouts is Alien: Earth, a sci-fi horror prequel that dives into the chilling origin of the Xenomorph, premiering August 12 on FX and Hulu. Other buzzy debuts include Smoke, a gritty crime drama starring Taron Egerton; The Waterfront, a family saga from Kevin Williamson; and Chief of War, a historical epic led by Jason Momoa.
Returning powerhouses are anchoring the season as well. Marvel’s Ironheart lands on Disney+ June 24 with Dominique Thorne front and center, while Ginny & Georgia Season 3 dropped June 5 on Netflix. The Buccaneers Season 2 hits Apple TV+ on June 18, followed by The Bear Season 4 returning to Hulu June 25. Netflix’s smash hit Squid Game wraps with its third season on June 27.
Come July 16, fans can return to Cousins Beach with The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 on Prime Video. And August brings even more must-watch moments with Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 arriving August 6, followed closely by Peacemaker Season 2 on August 21, exclusively on HBO Max.
