Social Media Reacts to ‘The Bachelor’s’ Shrimp-Gate!

The Bachelor franchise has had some pretty ridiculous scandals, but Shrimp-Gate is unlike anything we have seen before.  Here’s everything you need to know about the shellfish scandal!

The Bachelor is legendary for the tears, love, heartbreak but above all… drama; but this year, the drama is all about shrimp? Bachelor contestant, Shanae Ankney, has been front and center in the mansion’s shrimp scandal.

It all started when Elizabeth Corrigan made shrimp for the girls in the house. Allegedly, the girls accepted Corrigan’s shrimp but declined Ankney’s. She then accused Corrigan of bullying, over the declined plate of shrimp.

Bachelor Nation has its own opinions about the scandal. Here’s what fans had to say:

Bachelor Clayton Echard tried to put an end to the drama confronting the two women. Sadly, his attempt resulted in yet another conversation about shrimp. Echard wasn’t happy about the conversation and said “We’re not talking about growing together. We’re not resolving conflict. We’re talking about shrimp.”

Ankney claimed that the girls in the hot tub ignored her because Corrigan was there. However, Corrigan completely denied being in the hot tub when the whole situation occurred. In the midst of all the drama, Bachelor Nation fans have solved the fishy situation. Apparently, Corrigan was in the hot tub after all.

After spending so much time talking about shellfish, the former NFL player decided to cancel the cocktail party, leaving multiple contestants angry. To make matters worse, Echard sent Corrigan home. After the show aired, Clayton publicly apologized to Corrigan.

On the other hand, Shanae Ankney isn’t ashamed about the scandal at all. She posted a lighthearted video on her social media.

It’s safe to say that as long as Shanae is in the mansion, Shrimp-Gate is to be continued. Bachelor Nation fans were not happy about the amount of screen time dedicated to the scandal.

And yes, some of us will never look at shrimp the same.
