Our favorite former Moredale High students are back on September 21 for the final season of Netflix’s Sex Education. Season 3 left us with cliffhangers in almost every storyline so it’s time to check back in on our characters!

After two long years since the release of Sex Education season 3, fans finally got new content with Neftlix’s teaser trailer and official photos from the show’s Instagram and we now have insight into possible plotlines for season 4. We know the gang must navigate their new school, Cavendish Sixth Form College, and that we are leaving the U.K. and heading to America to check in on Maeve. The teaser trailer also reveals significant changes by introducing new characters and saying goodbye to others. For those who aren’t rewatching the first three seasons, here is a recap of where we left off with each character.

After leaving his true love Maeve a voicemail and not hearing back, Otis (Asa Butterfield) tries to keep things going with Ruby. When he fails to express a reciprocal ‘I love you,’ Ruby breaks up with him. While on a school trip to France, Otis and Maeve miss the bus and get left behind. When forced to speak to each other, Otis recites the voicemail from memory and finally reveals his true feelings for her. In the finale, Otis says goodbye to Maeve as she leaves for America, leaving their future uncertain.

When Maeve tells her mom she can’t afford to go to America, her mom gives her cash to cover the costs. After carefully considering Amiee’s advice, she accepts a spot at a U.S. school. In the finale of season 3, we see her get on the bus, leaving Otis behind.

Jean (Jillian Anderson) gives birth to Jakob’s child, only he may not be the father. We await the results of a paternity test and hopefully, season 4 will provide us with this answer and determine the fate of Jean and Jaokb’s future.
