Percy Jackson season 2 has set a Disney+ premiere date, revealed an epic teaser and announced new season 3 casting during Hall H Comic-Con panel.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians made a thunderous return to San Diego Comic-Con, where Disney revealed during Thursday’s Hall H panel that Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ December 10, 2025.
Fans in attendance were treated to an exclusive teaser for the upcoming Sea of Monsters storyline, along with several cast appearances and a surprise announcement about Season 3. Author and series co-creator Rick Riordan joined the festivities via video to announce that Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie have been cast as fan-favorite siblings Nico and Bianca di Angelo, the children of Hades, for Season 3, which is based on The Titan’s Curse. Filming on the third season is set to begin soon.
The panel featured stars Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Charlie Bushnell (Luke), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse), and Daniel Diemer (Tyson), whose casting for Season 2 was announced last year in the same Hall H venue.
A nearly skipped teaser trailer ignited fan excitement with a preview of the high-stakes adventure ahead. In the clip, Percy prepares to face an inevitable war, with Poseidon warning him, “Brace yourself, Perseus.” Viewers see Clarisse climbing from a boat ready for battle, Luke wielding a deadly blade, and Percy holding Annabeth’s hand before diving into the Sea of Monsters.
Diemer’s Tyson makes a dramatic entrance by shielding Percy from a fireball and revealing his cyclops form for the first time. The teaser also gives a humorous moment with the Gray Sisters teasing Annabeth about Percy being her boyfriend—something she never quite admitted.
Season 2 adapts The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Riordan’s beloved series. According to executive producer Craig Silverstein, the new episodes follow Percy’s journey to retrieve the Golden Fleece in order to save Camp Half-Blood. The camp’s magical border has failed, leaving it under threat from a wave of monsters and poorly managed leadership.
“Season 2 is about Percy trying to hold his life together as everything is changing. That’s your typical middle school experience,” joked Silverstein.
Executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz echoed the show’s massive scale this season. “We’re on the Sea of Monsters adventure,” Shotz said. “We’re on an ironclad ship, cruise ships, chariot races—fighting incredible monsters. It’s huge.”
The panel, moderated by actor-comedian Timothy Simons, who will appear in Season 2 as Tantalus, also featured a special preview of Grover’s long-awaited wedding dress moment, a standout scene for fans of the books. Though the scene was cut off before revealing the dress, it teased a major plotline and sparked playful banter between Simhadri and Scobell over behind-the-scenes proposal jokes.
The Season 2 cast includes returning leads and new faces. Tamara Smart joins as Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus. Courtney B. Vance takes over the role of Zeus, following the passing of Lance Reddick. Other guest stars include Jason Mantzoukas (Dionysus), Timothy Simons (Tantalus), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hermes), and Sandra Bernhard, Kirsten Schaal, and Margaret Cho as the Gray Sisters.
The official synopsis for Season 2 reads:
“After Camp Half-Blood’s protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp — the Golden Fleece. With help from Annabeth, Clarisse and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson, Percy’s survival is crucial in the fight to stop Luke, the Titan Kronos, and their impending plan to bring down Camp Half-Blood — and ultimately, Olympus.”
