Must Watch Cinderella Stories!

With the arrival of Hilary Duff’s A Cinderella Story on Netflix, we are taking a look at some of our favorite movies centered around the iconic princess!

Ever since it first aired in 1950, Cinderella has been made into multiple different movies. We all know how the story ends, but somehow we can’t seem to get enough of the classic fairytale. Here is a list of Cinderella stories you must watch!

A Cinderella Story (2004)

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”

Hilary Duff’s A Cinderella Story is a must watch for every hopeless romantic. Our Cinderella, Sam, works in her late dad’s diner under the supervision of her evil stepmother. When she isn’t working, Sam texts her internet pen pal who turns out to be her Prince Charming.

Cinderella (2015)

Disney’s 2015 Cinderella remake is more of a classic take on the well known fairytale. This live action version of the movie starring Lily James, brings the original Cinderella to life. This film gives us a chance to see what Cinderella would look like in real life with her spectacular dress and tiny glass slippers.

Another Cinderella Story (2008)

Every Selena Gomez fan must watch Another Cinderella Story. In this version of the fairytale, Mary Santiago falls for her prince charming through dancing. Not only do Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley make an adorable couple, but their dancing scenes are very fun to watch.

Ella Enchanted (2004)

Ella Enchanted is a very different version to other Cinderella stories. Ella of Frell, played by Anne Hathaway, was bestowed with the gift of obedience. Her evil stepmother used her gift to humiliate her and it started to feel more like a curse. Ella goes on an adventurous journey to free herself from the curse and save her Prince Charming.

Into the Woods (2014)

Into the Woods isn’t exactly a Cinderella story, but we do see Cinderella’s character. The film is based on the 1986’s Broadway musical and follows a couple who goes into the woods to end their curse, but end up meeting the fairy tale characters Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. This Disney film has a wonderful soundtrack with top tier actors such as Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick and Johnny Depp.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998)

Ever After: A Cinderella Story is a classic take on the well known fairytale. After her father’s death, Danielle, played by Drew Barrymore, is forced to work for her evil stepmother. Her life takes a turn once she meets her Prince Charming. Despite being a classic version of the fairytale, the movie’s Renaissance costumes and French architecture paint a different picture of a well known Cinderella.

Cinderella (1950)

We couldn’t end this list without mentioning the original animated Cinderella movie. This film is iconic for the grand ball, the glass slippers and Bippity Boppity Boo. If you haven’t already, the original Cinderella movie is a must!

Cinderella tales have proven to be fan favorites! Whether it is a classic take or a modern adaptation, we love seeing Cinderella get her happily ever after.
