Music Festivals Return to Thailand!

Music Festivals Return to Thailand in the form of RARE 2020!

On December 11th, 2020, 808 Festival presents RARE Thailand 2020, one of the first in person music festivals (apart from drive-in shows) to spring up in the midst of this pandemic. The show features popular DJ’s Kayzo and Carnage, the latter of which is making his return to the festival circuit with this festival. Kayzo has been doing virtual festivals as well as drive-ins during the pandemic. Other DJ’s 4B and K?D will be rounding out the lineup, both very popular artists in their own right. Any fan of EDM genres such as bass, house, trap, and drum-and-bass would admit that this is a pretty stacked lineup, but is it worth the risk?

So far, festival organizers have not released any safety guidelines or precautions when it comes to the pandemic, however, the country of Thailand still has some safety measures in place. While they have loosened up on some of their strict regulations, people traveling to the country still have to self-quarantine for 14 days as well as take a COVID test within 72 hours of traveling to the country. EDM fans from outside Thailand, who are starved of live shows due to the pandemic, might just make the journey to Thailand for such a stacked lineup. As a fan of the music, if I had the means and the time to go to Thailand, I would not pass up a chance at attending this show.

What do you think about this? Thailand has only had a little under four thousand people infected with COVID, a minuscule amount compared to the United States or the United Kingdom. We know that fans of the festival atmosphere are chomping at the bit to get back to live shows but is RARE 2020 worth it?! Let us know what you think!
