Louis Tomlinson announces his new album How Did I Get Here?, releases his new single Lemonade, and prepares for The Away From Home Festival.
Louis Tomlinson is stepping into a new chapter of his solo career with the announcement of his third studio album, How Did I Get Here?, set for release on January 23, 2026. To mark the occasion, the former One Direction star has also dropped his brand-new single “Lemonade”, which he had been teasing in recent weeks.

The upcoming album began to take shape in the English countryside before Tomlinson traveled to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, earlier this year. There, he spent three weeks developing the record alongside co-producer Nico Rebscher, known for his work with Alice Merton and Aurora.
In a statement about How Did I Get Here?, Tomlinson reflected on his growth as both a singer and songwriter. “I sum up it as ‘The record I always deserved to make,’” he shared. “My bread and butter is my honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped to be.”
Before the album’s release, Tomlinson will return to the stage for his personally curated The Away From Home Festival, happening October 4–5 at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, New York. The festival will feature performances from Lauv, Steve Aoki, Plain White T’s, Daya, Pale Waves, Circa Waves, and DJ Zach Sang, with Tomlinson himself set to co-headline.

How Did I Get Here? follows Tomlinson’s 2020 debut solo album Walls and his 2022 project Faith in the Future, which included the single “Bigger Than Me.” With “Lemonade” already setting the tone for what’s to come, fans can expect a more personal, honest record that Tomlinson describes as the album he’s always wanted to make.
