Law & Order Celebrates 25 Seasons With SVU Crossover

Law & Order marks its historic 25th season with a cast celebration in New York and a two-hour crossover event with SVU airing January 8 on NBC.

Law & Order is officially celebrating a major television milestone. The iconic NBC drama marked its 25th season with a special cast and crew celebration in New York, leading into a highly anticipated two-hour crossover event with Law & Order: SVU.

On January 6, Dick Wolf, Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television, and NBC hosted an anniversary celebration at Cipriani42 in New York City honoring the long-running series. Cast members from across the show’s history gathered to commemorate the landmark season, highlighting the legacy of one of television’s most enduring dramas.

Among those in attendance were Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, Richard Brooks, Alana de la Garza, Tony Goldwyn, Hugh Dancy, Jeremy Sisto, and Benjamin Bratt, representing both past and present eras of Law & Order. The evening also welcomed members of the extended Wolf Entertainment universe, including Mariska Hargitay from SVU, Zeeko Zaki from FBI, and Ellen Burstyn from Organized Crime.

The celebration comes just days before the franchise delivers a major crossover event. The two-hour Law & Order / SVU episode airs Thursday, January 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with streaming available the following day on Peacock.

In hour one, the sudden disappearance of an injured woman from a hospital launches a murder investigation. Brady joins forces with Benson and the SVU team as an eyewitness account reveals a complex motive, culminating in a dangerous and explosive discovery. Hour two intensifies as the search for a suspect exposes a crime with serious legal and ethical consequences. Bruno faces a high-risk raid, while Carisi and Price attempt to stabilize the case in court after controversial interrogation tactics threaten the prosecution.

Now in its 25th season, Law & Order remains one of television’s most honored dramas, known for its signature two-part format that follows both the police investigation and the courtroom prosecution. The series continues to air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and streams next day on Peacock, reaffirming its place as a cornerstone of network television.
