Prime Video has officially released the trailer and key art for Season Two of Cross, signaling the return of its high-stakes crime thriller with a darker and more dangerous story ahead. The new season premieres February 11, 2026, and will roll out globally in more than 240 countries and territories.
Based on characters created by James Patterson, Cross stars Aldis Hodge, who also serves as an executive producer. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios. Season Two will launch with the first three episodes, followed by weekly releases leading up to the season finale on March 18, 2026.
Created by executive producer and showrunner Ben Watkins, Cross is set in Washington, D.C. and follows Alex Cross, a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist known for his extraordinary ability to get inside the minds of killers. That psychological edge helped make the series a breakout hit, with the first season drawing more than 40 million viewers worldwide within its first 20 days on Prime Video.
The second season raises the stakes as billionaire business mogul Lance Durand, portrayed by Matthew Lillard, seeks FBI protection after receiving a chilling death threat tied to the murder of a billionaire playboy. Alex Cross teams up with FBI Agent Kayla Craig, played by Alona Tal, to protect Durand and track down a killer who leaves behind disturbing clues. At the same time, Cross’ longtime partner and best friend John Sampson, portrayed by Isaiah Mustafa, finds himself forming an unexpected connection that adds another layer to the unfolding investigation.
Season Two also expands the Cross universe with new cast members Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham, joining returning stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill. Ben Watkins will also appear in a recurring role this season.
In addition to Watkins and Hodge, the series is executive produced by Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa.
With its strong debut season and an even more intense storyline ahead, Cross is positioning itself as one of Prime Video’s major crime thriller returns of 2026.
