KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along launches globally on Netflix following sold-out theatrical events and record-breaking soundtrack success.
Netflix is turning up the volume for fans of KPop Demon Hunters. On Monday, August 25, the streamer will debut KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along, a full-length, global sing-along version of the hit animated film, giving audiences everywhere the chance to belt out the movie’s most iconic tracks.
The new release comes on the heels of Netflix’s special KPop Demon Hunters: A Sing-Along Event, a one-weekend-only theatrical celebration held in 2,180 theaters across the U.S., Canada, UK/Ireland, and Australia/New Zealand. The response was overwhelming, with more than 1,300 sold-out screenings across the U.S. and Canada alone.
As part of the celebration, fans in New York and Los Angeles were treated to surprise appearances by voice cast members Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ken Jeong, along with vocalists REI AMI and Kevin Woo. Directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and producer Michelle L.M. Wong also joined in to meet fans. The festivities reached new heights in New York City, where the Empire State Building was lit “Golden” on August 22 in a Music-to-Light Spectacular, in partnership with Netflix, CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), and iHeartMedia. A sing-along double-decker bus experience also rolled through Manhattan, giving fans a one-of-a-kind celebration.
Since its Netflix debut on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters has shattered records, becoming the most popular original animated film in the platform’s history and the first of its kind to enter Netflix’s Most Popular Movies List (English). Its soundtrack has also dominated the summer, surpassing 3 billion global streams. Breakout anthem “Golden” even soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying its status as a cultural phenomenon.
The sing-along version invites viewers to fully immerse themselves in the story, following a trio of friends who harness their powerful voices to save the world.
The music lineup is star-studded, with original songs written and produced by top names including TEDDY, 24, IDO, Jenna Andrews, and more, and performed by artists such as EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, Kevin Woo, Lea Salonga, and members of TWICE (Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung).
With the movie’s massive streaming success and the global release of its sing-along version, KPop Demon Hunters is proving it’s more than just a film—it’s a full-fledged cultural event.
