We all know Rihanna is responsible for many of the top hits and that she has dipped her toes into a variety of industries that have officially led her to become a billionaire!

Last week, Forbes announced that singer and businesswomen Rihanna had officially ​​become a billionaire, worth approximately $1.7 billion. The singer and Fenty beauty entrepreneur has dipped her toes into the industries of beauty, fashion, and the latest, skincare. Among her many achievements and titles are Rihanna’s status as the second richest female entertainer (Oprah is the first) and current richest female musician. But just how did this multi talented woman earn her spot as a billionaire?

Music and Acting Career

From her 2005 debut single “Pon de Replay”, to early hits like “Umbrella”, “Don’t Stop The Music”, and “Disturbia”, Rihanna began conquering the music industry as soon as she entered it. Her irresistibly catchy songs continued to top charts, with albums like 2010’s Loud, 2012’s Unapologetic, and 2016’s ANTI cementing her status as a music legend. The artist made her acting debut with a cameo in 2006’s Bring It On: All or Nothing. The artist has gone on to appear in a variety of films and Television series including Bates Motel, Guava Island, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Rihanna’s lingerie business, Savage X Fenty , is now estimated to be worth $270 million. The underwear and sleepwear retailer aims to produce garments that are accessible to all women. Perhaps the most well known of Rihanna’s endeavors (aside from her music) and certainly most lucrative, is Rihanna’s beauty brand. According to Forbes, the singer is responsible for 50% of the ownership of the company, valued at around $1.4 billion. The beauty line, established in 2017, was revolutionary and not only for its inventive and high quality products. The company’s award winning foundation boasts 50 shades, making it one of the most inclusive shade ranges for a beauty company ever. Between fan favorite products like Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, and Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder, as well as the newly launched Fenty Skin and upcoming fragrance, the company is sure to continue dominating the beauty industry for years to come.

Rihanna has managed to create multiple highly rated and inclusive brands with Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty all the while maintaining her status as one of the decade’s best musicians. She has worked with Puma to create some of the company’s most popular shoes and clothing items ever and starred in several TV shows and movies. Needless to say, she is one of, if not the most influential women in business and entertainment of the 21st Century. She also gives back to various communities with charitable projects, including The Clara Lionel Foundation, supporting research and advocacy for HIV/AIDS, and the Believe Foundation, with much of her work aimed towards helping children. Currently, Rihanna is in a relationship with long-time friend and collaborator, A$AP Rocky.
